Panas Athanatos began his musical journey at the prestigious Philippos Nakas Conservatory in Athens, studying with Yiotis Samaras. He has led numerous small bands in local gigs and festivals, collaborating with prominent musicians of the Greek Jazz scene (Spyros Panagiotopoulos, Pantelis Benetatos, Kostas Konstantinou etc). As a sideman he has toured and recorded with various singers and instrumentalists in Greece and the United Kingdom. In 2015 he moved to Groningen ( Netherlands) to study as an undergraduate student at the Prins Claus Conservatory. There he had the chance to study with Spike Wilner, Paul Bollenback, Jonathan Kreisberg, Mark Gross, Joris Teepe, Adam Nussbaum, among others. In 2016 he created the Snow White Quartet and performed in various clubs in the Netherlands. He moved to New York City in 2017 and quickly became a sought after musician in the scene. He’s performing regularly in jazz clubs such as Smalls, Bar Next Door, Silvana, etc and has a weekly residency at Shrine and a monthly residency at Mezzrow and Bar Next Door.
